Mr. Jlansi Alexander Martin, wellknown agricultural journaiist, died in Christchurch on Wednesday aftgr an illness. He was a.ged 69. He work'ed on newspapers in Soutjiland, Aupkiand and Ch,riatcimrQh Mr- Martin was wideiy known 'throughout New Zeaiand a.nd pxpert knowledge on ^any aapeets o'f farming wae often sought; Mr. Gordon S.prep.'o.n. pr-esident oi the Levin Playreaders, was the repipient of a sUver t?ay frpm the society on Wednesday evening, to mark the qeeasion nt his aPPr°aching marriage. The presentation wa£ made by the Mayor (Mr. H. B Burdekin) . a vice-president of the Playreaders, who paid' tribute to Mr. Sorensoh's fine wor-k as prpsiderit since " the. reyival of the society's activities three years ago. Mr. Sorenson suitably resjporided.' „
