SHANNON PLUNKET SOCIETY

Mrs. L. V/. Wilson (president) , Mrs. F. Thurston (secretary and treasurer) and Mesdames C. Tremewan and F. Edmonds were present at the monthly meeting of the Shannon Plunket Society on Monday afternoon. An apology was received from Mrs. C. Wishart. A report was read on the very successfui street day held in March, by which the funds of the society were appreciably increased. A "vote of thanks was carried to all who donated in cash or kind and to those who patronised the stall. A vote of thanks was also passed to Mrs. C. B. Gunning for a donation of £1 Is to the society. The Plunket Nurse (Miss E. L. Hight) , in her March report, stated that the health of the babies was very good and she considered the attendance was very poor. The number of visits made to Shannon was five and to homes six. Thirty babies came to the office, five preschool children and thirty-ftve adults to the rooms. There were two new babies.
