OVERSEAS WRESTLERS

IMPORTATIONS FOR THE COMING SEASON The Negro wrestler, Jack Claybourne, is booked to eome to New Zealand. He is recognised in Ameriea as the greatest Negro champion yet turned out, and is ehallenger to the world title held by Jim Londos. Claybourne is six feet tall and weighs 17 stone. He is.a specialist in the drop kick, which New Zeaianders saw to fuli advantage when "Jumping" Joe Savoldi* spent a season in the Do'minion some years ago. 1 Claybourne gained excellent pub-r licity when he drop kicked against "Wee Willie" Davis, who is 6-feet 5inches, and who was seen here against Savoldi; Claybourne's kick went right over the top of Davis, and he kicked the air at a height of seven feet. Claybourne will be the first Negro wrestler to visit New Zealand. Another notable importation will be Jack Katan, who will be remembered for his defeat of Earl McCready in 1940. Katan still holds the title which he won from McCready. The veteran McCready is also paying the Dominion a visit, and it will be interesting to see how these two fare. Nothing is yet known of "Lofty" Blomfield's intentions, and whether' or not he will be seen iii the rihg

this season. If he retums he can Ipk assured of a warm welcome frorr the fans.
