AUCKLAND, April 8. Nearly 1000 returned fServicemen aud women from both wars gathered in the Town Hall concert chamber tonight to meet Admiral Lord Louis Mountbatten at a function arranged under the auspices of the Auckland Returned Ser vices Association. Lord Louis, who hau expressed his desire to meet ex-service men, was presented with a set of hand earved table-napkin rings made from New Zealand native woods by New Zea land disabled Serviceman. Aceeptiug the gift from the Auckland p.resideut, Mr. A. P. Postlewaite, he said it would occupy an honoured place amoug his effects at Singapore.
