But for wet weather at several of the meetings the aggregate would have been considerably greater. The opening day of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's meeting at Addington saw £118,05(5 10s liandled un the totalisator, and at Hastings, where the Hawko's Bav Jockey Club meeting opcned, £58,254 10s was- the total. At Te Aroha the Poverty Bav meeting registered a turnover oi £(52,550. The Wanganui Jockey Club's ligures were £40.524 10s, tliose of Whangarei (011 8aturdav) £52,544, and at Ihe Gore meeting £52,29(5 10s. The Houtli Canterbury Jockey Club's turnover was £27,128 10s, and the Manawata Trotting Club's iigures were £19,895 10s.
