AUDACIOUS THEFT OF SAFE
i BURGLARS GET ONLY £3 WELLINGTON, April 9. Burglars who entered the premises of New Zealand Faper . Mills in Roxburgh Street last night removed the safe and took it away in a car, but obtained only about £3 for their trouble. . , ; The theft was audaoiously carried but. About nine o'clock two passers-by saw two men. carry the safe out of the huiiding and! place it in a car, which, drove away. Suspecting that sqmething was i wrong,, - they s rang the police and detectives were qujckiy *on the scene. ' ■ The safe, *with the company's papers intact,, , was: recovered early this morning with the door f orced off .
