MR. LOWRY'S REPRESENTATIONS 7 Thanks to the activities of Mr. L. G. Lowry, M.P., baeked up by tne Otaki Borough Council and Otaki Commercial Association, Sunday trains will run from Wellington to Palmerston North. The new schedule commences to-morrow. . Following is the letter received from the Hon. R. Semple by Mr. Lowry: — "Wioh reference to the representations of the Otaki Borough Council relative to the Sunday trains north of Paekakariki, I am pleased to inform you that by a re-arrange-ment of the engine runs consequent upon the easing off of the stock trafRc, it has now been found possible to run a Sunday train from Palmerston North to Wellington, leaving the first-mentioned station at approximately 4.20' p.m. Full particulars of the schedule of this train, which will commence running on Sunday, April 7, and will be timed to stop at all stations north of Paekakariki; will- be advertised. 'T mote on reference to my file that you have submitted requests, somewhat similar to that of the Otaki Borough Council, the Otaki Commercial Association and Mr. H. McBain, of Knight's Road, Lower Hutt, relative to weekend transport, and I shall be pleased, therefore, if you will acquaint these parties with the arrangements the Railways Department has in hand to provide raii transport for those desirous of returning to the -city on the weekend.
