ON THE BOWLING GREEN
OTAKI RAILWAY'S TOURNEY SEASON'S CLOSING ACTIVITIES The Otaki Railway Club staged a tournament during the week-end in duil but fine weather, a light shower iasting a few minutes in no way interiering with play. The green was in good order, and in fact much better.than on,many previous occasions. After an interesting day's play, the winners proved to be Mick Byinonds, Turoa and Doug. Weoster and Jim Lawrie (s), who won all four games, one of which was won after a close contest on the last head. Prior to the commencement of play the president (Mr. Frank Rule, welcomed all, nearly sixty players and supporters, and trusted that all would have an enjoyable day. During the afternoon mr. Ruie made reierence to the fine work done lor the club by Mr. and Mrs. Ffed Barrect, and made a presentation on oehalf of members. The present was suitably acknowledged. Morning and ai cernoon tea was supplied ior visitors, and the iadies dispensing this were given three cheers. A similar compliment was given the Railway Club, members oeing highly pleased with the day's enjoyment. Tne green will now be closed, and is to be given expert attention in readiness ior next season. Following are the results of the day's play: — Webster four wins; Enoka (Otaki Railway), Parsons Usland Bay) and Merwood (Otaki) three each; Richards (Hutt) , Laroen (Levin), Southgate (Otaki Railway), Grey (Otaki) and Hook (Shannon) two each; Robertson (Otaki), Lockett (Paekakariki), Booch (Otaki Railway) , Rolis (Featherston) and Winter burn (.Otaki) one each.
