Received Tuesday, 12.20 p.m. LONDON, April 1. Scotland Yard has revealed that to March 31 a total of 16,930 weapons have been handed in at London in response to the Home Secretary's appeal to Civilians to surrender illegallyheld firearms. This is a greater total than was realised when the appeal was made for guns to equip the Home Guard after the evacuation from Dunkirk, when 15,933 guns were given up.
