WELLINGTON, Maxch 2o, In the third day 's play of the cricket match between the A'astralians and Wellington at the Basin Reserve, the Australians demonstrated their allround superiority in every department of the game hy winning hy the wide margin of an innings and 160 runs. On a pitch which was crumhling, the Australian spin howiers today got a lot oi turn on the hall. They largely owed their big victory tcr the hrilliant howlmg of the tall New South Wales slow ieit-hander, E. Toshack, who took six wickets for 40 off 26 overs, 12 of which were maidens. "Wellingtotf had the worst end of the stick in having to hat today on a wicket which was starting to crumhle, ' ' said the captain of the Australian team, W. A. Brown, after the match. ' 'Had we had to hat today, we may also liave found it difficult to get runs on ] the wicket. Credit must he given to our spin howiers for so successfully ' seizing their opportunity. I thought ■ Crawford hatted well. He was . not ! afraid to hit the hall." Scores: — WELLINGTON ! First Innings 91 j Second Innings , Tindall, c. Tallon, h. Toshack .... 36 : Rice, l.h.w., h.
