Received Monday 10.20 p.m. TOAIO, March 25. Americans who flew over Miriami Dake mountain reported that they saw the erupting volcano hurl a boulder the size of a house more thah 1000 feet into the air. The rumblirigs could be heard 20 miles away. The mountain is at present 'belching a 3000-foot coiumn of smoke and ashes", which farmers say have damaged the land for 20 miles from the volcano. The entire peninsula on which tlie volcano stands has been evaciiated, .with the residents sheltering across the Bay of Kagoshima. Three streams of lava are at present creeping down the mounjain sides. One has reached the sea two . miles away.
