REMOYAL BY RUSSIANS BREACII OF AGREEMENT Received Monday, 9.15 p.m. - LONDON, March 25. j Dr. Paul, Pres.clent of the provincial administration of Thnringia, disclosed that the Russians bodily removed several industrics from Czechoslovakia and , started them again in Thuringia, in tlie Kussian Zone of cccupation, says the Daily Telegraph 's Beriin correspondent. The announcement, which caused co> siaerab.e surprise, disclosed that the industries concerned included, firstiy, Germany 's largest ball-bearing plant, the Kugel-Fiscner worhs at Schweinfurt; secondly, the jewellery industry ,at Gablonz; thirdly, the glass polishing works at Haida, 35 miles west of Lfberec. Tne correspondent points out that the Western Aliies are entitled to 5J per cent. of the Kugel-Eischer plant, which is valued at £o25;J00. The other half has been allotted to Kussia and Poland. The correspondent asks how the reStarting of the plant is to be reconciled with the Allied Control Coiuicil's dec.slon that the manufacture of ball and rcller beariugs in future will not be permitted In Germany. The Times' Berin correspondent says! that the United States Deputy Military Governor (General Clay) announced that the i'our Powers had reached an agreement on the future level of German industry. The plan is hased on the operation of Germany as an economic, ; but not nccessarily a political unit. Thej correspondent ij.dded that, if certain' parts of Germany were made into sep- j aiate economic units, it would be neces- : sary to revise the whole plan.
