The "Bundacerg Bombsheil," Mr. Frank Barnes, M.P., was fined £30 by the State Parliament after it nau adjudged him guilty of contempt. When he entered the chamber, the Speansr called on him to apologise to the House for having lasfc Novemoer cailed the Speaker (Mr. S. Brassmgton), the present Premier (Mr. E. M. Hanlon) and the Chairman of Com- j mittees (Mr. John Manu) "three of | the biggest crooks in the State. . Jumping up, Mr. Barnes said: "I j have no intention of apoiogising. l ' woulcl sooner break stones on the J roacls than apologise to 'crooks'. Take my pay from me. I have got it on you now." After the contempt motion was car ried, he walked out shouting. Hater, when he refused to attend the bar oi the House, he was hned and given L4 days to pay.
