/ ■ Sir, — -I am disappointed that my .etter in last Thursday's "ChronLcle" has not drawn forth more sup- j oort for a municipal aerodrome, but • [ am glad that I have a supporter in "Young Un," as evinced by his j letter in reply to "Old Timer's," j which appeared in Friday's issue | of your paper. • j What this town needs, is more of , the type of "Young Un," who is out to make the town progress, but I am afraid the foulk of the citizens are like "Old 'Timer." As long as | they get three meals a day and a i bed at night nothing else worries them, except when the rates go up! •: I took "Young Un's" advice and j read the stirring address given to Rotarians in conference at Napier, so let's hope the local Rotary Club will get behind the move for a municipal airport and thus assist to i place Levin on the map. ' Sir, — Correspondents have made use of your columns during the past week about the merits or otherwise of Levin having a publically-owned aerodrome, but they have all been vague as to what it would cost the Levin Borough Council to acquire the site and erecRra modern hangar thereon," complete with the necessary equipment 5 to service any planes that call. Would it be possible, Sir, for somebody in authority, or one who knew what he was talking about, to give us the probable figures, and then citizens would be able to pass judgment on the prcposal through the columns of "The Chronicle."
