SETBACK TO FOOTBALL
"RUGBY ENTHUSIAST."
Sir,— At the last meeting of the Levin Borough -Council it was j decided that the oval at the Levin i Park Domain was to be tcp-dressed, | thus depriving the football fratern- j ity of the use of the only ground m , Levin which is really suitable for ; play. I realise the necessity for doing this work, but cannot understand the council's attitude in insisting on doing it now. When one considers that practically the only revenue from the domain comes from rugby football, it is hard to realise that the town fathers are going to deprive themselves. of this money when the job could at least be left until the spring. _ What I would like to know is, if the ground is not available, where are the players to practise? Where else are the facilities provided for players and spectators? In conclusion I would like to ask ' the council to reconsider its somewhat hasty decision, and give the footballers a chance to get their sport back5 to its pre-war footmg. I VnnTO
