LYTTELTON WATERFRONT CHR1STCHUKCH, March 22. The Lyttelton waterfront dispute has been settled, the men returning to work at 9 o'clpck thi-^ morning. No statemeut on the outeome. of the hegotiations could be obtained from eithei the union or the Waterfront Controller (Mr. Brockett), but it is understood that the men's demandp have been granted. Tlie union took exception to a letter from the Controller saying that i any man Ivlio refused to accept employnient on tlie . Korowai at ls 3d' an hour dirl nioney for unloading lampblack' w;ould be dismissed. The unioh asked -tliat the letter be vvithdrawn, and it was reported this nioniing that this course had been taken. The union also wanted ls (3d dirt nioney to work the cargo.
