LEVIN RED CROSS
MONTHLY MEETING ^ • The monthly meeting of the Levin Red Cross Society was held recently ;in the W.D.F.U. room. The presijdent (Miss H. E. Bowen) made feeling reference to the death of the ! late principal of the Horowhenua ! College (Mr. W. D. ThomaS) . The jxate Mr. Thomas and Mrs. Thomas ihad shown great interest in. the !work of the society, and had been most generous towards the- Levin sub-centre. A niotion of thanks was extended to Mr. and Mrs. Parton for the use of their grounds for the next-of-kih party and to the Horowhenua PipejBand for its help. The president j thanked all workers who had done so much to.make the afternoon a success. ' The annual meeting was fixed for j April 9, at 2 p.m. in the Cefttury Hall, and it was decided to invite Miss Cruts, .of the Wellington Red Cross, to give the addre,ss. A cordial invitation \yas-also extended to the public. With the war over and the petrol restrictions likely to be eased, the society hopes that the farming community will once again join up and assist the society in its general activities.
