CONVOLVULUS IN LEVIN

•'UiViiS ."

Sir, — I notice in your paper that the Otaki Borough Council is being aqcused of spreading that pest convplvulus within the Otaki Borough environs. The same may possibly apply to our local council, for since the York Street drain has been filled in convolvulus has appeared in the spoil used for the work. It is ihdeed a pest, and at least one residqnt of that area is making a desperate bid to cpntain the weed in at least the area where it has appeareh— eradicatiqn seems impossi'ple. In future, council employees, please take a little more care before selecting spoil f or . filling.— Yours, etc., ,

Levin, March 20. \
