ST. PATRICK'S BALL

SOCIAL HIGHLIGHT The beautiful moonlit night and the strains of sweet music lured young and old alike to the Druids' Hall on Monday evening for Sliannon's major social event of the' year — the St. Patrick's Ball. It was just like.pre-war days, with the many beautiful frocks making tne dance floor a blaze of colour. The stage was tastefully arranged with gaily coloured flowers, and formed a picturesque background for Mr. Cliff Anderson's orchestra, which played delightful music throughout the evening. , , Credit must be given to the band of willing helpers, who, working in harmony, made the event a sweeping social success. Visitors were present from all parts of the district and other visitors included Mrs. G. J. Ardagh and the Misses Gertrude and Pauline Ardagh, of Christchurch, Miss Robinson, of Wellington, and Mrs. A. Clark, of Woodville.
