T Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Jenkins are at present on holiday in the .South Island. Miss E. P. Greenwood, of Ohau, was appointed temporary assistant in the Public Library.at 'last evening's meeting of the Levin Borough Council. Rotarian E, R. Winkler, viee-preT sident of the Levin Rotary Club, is attending the annual conference which opened in Napier last evening. Mr. E. Collis, who has been on the Levin Borough 'CbunciTs outside stalf since 1931, is retiring. Last evening the council decided to write to Mr. Collis voicing appreeiation of his faithful service over this long period. Appr.eeiation of Mr.. W. J. Guinan 's long and efficient service as its building inspeetor was recorded by the Levin Borough Council at its monthly meeting last evening. This part of .Mr. Guinan 's work will now be carried out by the borough engineer (Mr. K. W. Samdford) . I Mr. K. W. Sandford, of Lower Hutt, has taken up his duties as engineer to the Levin Borough Council. At a meeting of the council last evening the Mayor (Mr. H. B. Burdekin) welcomed Mr. Sandford and expressed the hope' that he wou'ld be happy in his new position. Mr. Sandford briefly aeknowledged the welcome. Mr. S. Ansell, who has been engineering instructor at Horowhenua College since ( it was founded in 1940, has been appointed to a similar position on the stafi: of the Palmerston North Technical College. His position in Levin will j be filled by Mr. W. Hall, of the staff of the Wellington Technical College.
