Thi. number of registered farms in Ihe district was limited and there was no possibility. of increasing' the supply from further afield. When Mr. Innes and another departmental ofticer, Mr. W. A. Tliree months ago Mr. Innes met the council to put forward a suggestion that the council should ask the Govern ment. to assume complete control of thc central milk depot at Wanganui without anv finaneial liabilitv to the council, and that it should appoint a board of management with City Council representation to niu the depot as a public utilitv.
