AIRLINER DIYES INTO SEA Received Monday 10.40 p m. MELBOURNE, March 11. Heavy seas have washed up seven bodies of the 25 victims v.Then a Douglas airliner crashed into the sea off Tasmania last night. The plane, which carried 21 passengers and a crew of four, plunged into the sea five minutes after taking of! from Cambridge, Tasmania, for Essendon, Melbourne. People on the beach saw it dive vertically into the sea after the engines cut out. A party of experts, consisting oi officers of the Department of Civil Aviation and Australian National Airways ofhcials, left Melbourne for Ilobart today to investigate the crash, which is the worst in Australian flying history. The bodies were terribly mutilated and have not yet been identified. The plane was a converted C47 troop carrier owned by the Federal Government and was one of six leased to Australian National Airways about 12 months ago.
