Between 30,000 and 10,00o workers are involved. The Strike cal, was issued by 400 shop stewards, representing 83 enginoering works, after a meeting to consider the case of 4000 employees of Humher, Ltd., who have been unofficially striking since Pebrtiary 23 ^iecause of a dispute over the iiasic rate of piecework. The stewards .gnored the advice of the union ieaders to resume work pending negotiations and decided, instead, to appeal to the workers ih nther tirms for support.
