^ POROUT AWHAO'S MEETING The annual meeting of the Poroucawnao Vvoxuc-fi-g Ihb- uirute was held on Saturday last. Mrs. G. Arcus was m the Ghair and Mrs. Pickering, hon. creasufer of tne SOUthern Wellington JEederation, was present. Two' ne'w memoers were weleomed, and aiso visitors and present members. The foiiowing is the persorinel of the new committee: — President: Mrs. G. Arcus; committee: Mesciames Carie, Iiannam, Penny, Speirs, Scott, Taoof, Tait and /ickers, and Misses Arc'us and Carie, Beautifiil floweys and fruit were presented to Mrs. Pickering, visitmg executive mernoer, Mrs; C, Arcus, president, and Miss B. Carlej secretary. Shoulder sprays were given to Mrs. Tait and conveners oi che sub-committees. Mesdames ocott and Speirs were presented with fancy boxes of fruit. The foiiowing members carried off the points prizes for the year: — Seniors: Mrs. Vickers 1, Mrs. Carie 2, Miss K. Carie 3. Juniors: Miss B. Carie 1, Miss S, Scott 2, Mrs. L, jamieson 3.
Foiiowing the business a delightful programme was much enjoyed by members. Mrs. Tait conducted a community sing, and this was followed by Miss Shirley A'Court singing "Deep in the Night," which was much appreciated. A song was aiso rendered by Misses Graham and Bi.. Carie. Mrs. Graham then conducted a competition, which was won by Mrs. Vickers and Miss Scott. Tc concluae the programme, Miss D. RoWe gave a most interesting talk oh her recent trip to Rotorua. She was very clear and members toi iowed her throughout with interest. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Iiannam and Graham anc Miss B. Carie, and was a delightful finish to a most instructive and pleasant afternoon.
