VALEDICTORY
MRS. PARSONS HONOURED Mrs. Parsons, who is leaving Otaki to reside in Masterton, wai recently the guest of the Otaki Croquet Club, of which she was the very popular secretary for some years. Competitions on the club's well-kept greens were indulged in for the first part of the afternoon. and later a dainty afternoon tea. , Mrs. Jensen kindly lent her- beautifui home for the occasion, thc reception rooms being gorgeouslj decorated with autumn' blooms aird foliage. The proceedings were enlivened by the telling of amusing incidents which really happened tc the narrators. Mrs. Lowry (president) , in a fev. well chosen words, spoke of the losi Mrs. Parsons' departure was to thc club, and handed -her a parting gift of remembrance from the club Mrs. Lowry also presented the prizes for competitions, these being: — Nine pins, Mrs. Young; French croquet, Mrs. Parsons croquet in rain, Mrs. Gurney anc Miss Clarke; golf croquet, Mrs. Jen ' ien and Mrs. Parsons. •
