TWO RIDERS INJURED.

An unusual number of misliaps oecurred at the Wellington Racing Club's Autumn Meeting on Satur'day. Balcherrie, ridden by W. J. Bfough-. ton, fell two furlongs from home in the Tinakori Handicap and brought down Peeulate (L. J, Ellis) and Rotlmic (J. Gartli). Night Foe lost his rider, H. MacDonaid, in the Silverstream Handicap, while Blue Moon (G. Young) fell. The stewards opened inquiries into the Balcherrie and Night Foe incidents, but adjourned them until the second day to euable further evideneo to be taken. They found Blue Moon's fali due to an error of judgment on the part of the rider. Broughton and MacDonald were admitted to the Hutt Hospital, but latest reports state that they are making satisfaetory progress. The other riders escaped injury and were able to fulfil their remaining engagements during the afternoon.
