LEVIN'S BIRTHDAY PARTY
A very SucceSsful party* was held in St. Mary's Hall on the eVening oi F|bruary 28, 4 fche occasion Beihg the 19th birthday of the Levin Women V institute. All members and frienck ivere welcomed by the jife'sideht (Mrs. H. Powell), includihg Jhe Mayor and MaydreSs (Mr. and Mf's H. B. Burdekin) , the ldtte'r -bfeiric presented- with a lovely bouquet oi flowers by the president. Everyone joined heartily ih th( singing of the instittlte sohg ani. then followed an exceilent eVen ing's entertainment. The jiinidi eircTe gave a short play, entitled "Our Aunt From Caiifornia,"' w;hich refiected eredit on the produce; Miss Bowden. Mrs. Taylor . sdiig several songs, which wer§ foiiowec by a play by the senior merhbfeis di the dfama circle, entitled "Ail oi: a Summer's Day," eadh member giving an exceilent performance. A birthday cake, made by Mr. and Mrs. Sharp and decOr'atdd with 1§ candles, looked very Bgaiitiful, and the president called on two pf the foundation members, Miss , Dynan and Mrs. Feigier to ligm the niui two candles. Then foliowed representatives of , other organisation until all the candles were lit. Thc Mayoress was then asked to extin - guish them, which she did .quite successfully. The privilege of dut ting the cake wa^ giveh to Mf, Burdekin. All pre§ent received r piece. The music v/as supplied b: friendsjof the members. Another milestone has beer passed in the history of the Levin W.I. and the year has been a mbs successful one.
