MANCHESTER UNITY
ANNUAL CONFERENCE HELD The annual conference of the M.U.I.O.O.F. was opened on Saturday last in the Antipodean_ Lodge Room, Wellington, The grand master, Bro. W. Courtenay, presiding. Delegates were present from all _ parts of the district from Pahiatua ' Ito Blenheim. Bro. Russell welcomed {all delegates present on behalf of the Loyal Kilbirnie Lodge. The deputy grand maste.r, Bro. Brown, the grand secretary, Bro. J. Stewart, and the grand treasurer, Bro. G. Read, " attended. ' " * The following oiflcers were elected: Grand master, Bro. G. D. Harris (Levin)-; D.D. grand master, Bro. R. Wickens (Wellington) ; management committee: Bros. Eades, Bird, Forbes, Russell, Wood (Wellington) and L. Cooper (Eketahuna). Reports were received from P.G. lodges, three juvenile lodges and trustees, all of which were shown to be in a very strong position. Delegates were elected to attend the iB.M.C., to be held at Napier on May 8, 1946. During the conferenoe invitations were called for a time and place to hold the next conference. Two invifcations were received and it was de(cided to hold it in Levin. Next year ! the conference will be held in conijunction with the 50-year jubilee. The increasing assurance during !the year has developed out of all : expectations. ! At the conclusion of the business jthe installation of officers took * place, the installing officer being : D.G.M. Bro.
