SCHOOLS TO BE ESTAELISHED A chain of schools of physical education is to be establislied throughout the Horowhenua dis- ( fcrict tnis month. These will.eonsist !of soCial elubs in which young men : land women will receive Weekly instruction in such gymnastics *as tumbling, vaulting, throws and saults, a course of balancing, boxIhorse, bench, beam, bar, hoop, and ! medicine ball work; boxing, selfdef enc'e for Women and girls, ball handling, general, covering volley[ball, handball, corner ball, static poses, - eurythenics, ealisthenics,. ffee standing ekercises, AmqricEe^ song games, continental song daai.-^ cing, modern and old-time dancing and community singing. A small portion of each evening will be devoted to lectares - on anatomy> physiology and posture. The appartus to be used in this project is all portable, being conVeyed to local dance halls throughout the Horowhenua district. Interclub competitiOns " will be run frequently, a major faetor. being equal--ity in instruction as all ciubs are to open simultaneousiy and to receive the same weekly attehtion. A general ehampionship meeting will be held by the ten clubs annually. In the near tatare, the project will be extended still further by. the addition of a hostel in the Tararuas to accommodate two clubs, approximately 60 men and women for week-end • bush-tramping and ' swimming. A free display of the work to be covered in the syllabus will be given" throughout the district before Easter, the dates of appearances to be advertised in this paper. The principal instructor is Mr. F. A. L. Moriarty, former gymnastic and physical education instructor of 'Auckland Grammar School, and present instructor of Horowhenua College. Other specialists will be engaged from time to time throughout the course. . " i
