SMALLER STOCK ENTRIES
VALUES FIRMER AT LEVIN Smaller yardings were entered in most sections at the weekly stock sale in Levin yesterday, with a consequent firming in values throughout the sheep and cattle sections. A medium offering of pigs was submitted, but competition was somewhat restricted. There was a good entry of rams and they brought excellent prices. The following is a list of realisations: — Sheep: Fat ewes, 19s 7d, 20s to 21s 4d; light fat wethers, 27s 4d to 28s 7d; medium do., 29s lOd to 30s 7d; prime do., 31s 4d to 32s 4d; fat lambs, 28s 7d, 29s Id to 29s lOd; small 2-tooth wethers, to 16s 6d; small 2-tooth ewes, to 23s; 1-shear S. D. rams, 4 to 5i gns. ; full-mouth S.D. rams, 14, 24 to 3 gns. Cattle: Light vealers, £3 10s, £4 5s to £5; heavier do., £5 5s, £5 15s tc £6 2s 6d; medium fqt bullocks, tc £15; fat P.A. cows, £10 7s 6d, £10 15s to £11 7s 6d; fat ex-dairy cows, £5 12s 6d, £6, £6 10s to £6 12s 6d; weamer Jersey heifers, £3 15s, £4 5s to £4 15s; springing heifers, £10 to £13; * dairy cows in milk, to £6; springing dairy cows, to £13 10s. Pigs: Weaners, 15s to 17s 6d; large stores, 22s 6d to 25s 6d; sows with litters, £6 10s; light porkers, £2 10s, £2 18s to £3 3s; heavier do., £3 5s, £3 12s 6d to £3 15s; baconers £4 10s, £4 15s, to £5 5s; choppers, £3 10s. £4 10s to £5 5s.
