SURPLUS PATRIOTIG PARCELS WELLINGTON; Msreh & The Ministry of Food; and others in Britain had asked him to thank the National Patri.otic Fund Boaxd for its kindness- and warm-hearted generosity in giving -the British people surplus patriotic gift- parcels prepared for the New Zealand troops overseas, and no. longer required, said Sir Patriek Dnff; Hnited Kingdom High Commissioner, in a letter to the Patriotie Board, He had been advised. that the parcels arrived in London about the middle oi January in excellent condition, nd wouid be distributedi through the overseas gifts allocation centre of the Ministry of Food- The allocation was expected to be completed shortly. "In view of the contents of the parcels, and to avoid the neeessity for unpacking," Sir Patriek said, "it is felt that the greatest benefi.t will ensue from distribution to institutions comprising sanatormms, homes for the blind, incurables, hospitals, etc., and dged and lmpoverished people. The distributipn to such institutions is being spread as widely as possible."
