Received Tuesday, 9.30 p.m. WASHINGTON," March 5. Thg Wliite House announced that the War Oiiice Mobilisation and Reconver sion Advisory Board had approved the proposed British ioan. President Tru man expressed delight at the board s ,approval. He pointed out that Britain was the largest singie foreign customer for American goods before the war, buying large quantities of stirplus cottou, wheat, tobacco, fruits and manufactures. Mr. Truman deciared that the- alter native to the ioan was trade warfare between the nhtions. He was of the opinion that foreign trade was vitally necessary to expanding American eeonomy. "Our system cannot survive contractiug eeonomy," he added.
