One of the firsfc iCvent sts seleeted to go to Canada in 1941, he remained as one of the British teain working in close liaison with the Cmadian and American scientists until ti:e atomic bomb was perfected. He returned to London last September to rc::iune his duties as a reader at London Dniversity, acting as head of the Physics Department at King's College. He is even better known at Cambridge, where he took his B.A. and Ph.D. de 1 grees. He is a native of Birmingham and was for a time at St. Andrew's Dniversity.
