WOMEN'S DIVISION

OTAKI-TE HORO BRANCH The first meeting of the year took place recently at the Te Horo Hall, when Mrs. S. Blackburn presided. It was a happy gathering, and after the transacting of the business and the welcoming of three new members, the afternoon took the form of a pleasant social chat, during which a competition was won by Mrs. Clifford. A tasty afternoon tea was dispensed by the hostesses, Mrs. R. Johnston and Mrs. K. Spiers. These monthly meetings have come to mean a lot to members, even at times altering their whole outlook. The creditable display on the stall characterised the initiative and thoroughness with which members had worked, the proceeds of which went to Kianga Moe Rest Home. The rest homes are for country women who require a rest or a quiet holiday, and it is wonderful to think the long cherished dream of the Women's Division has been realised.
