A ROTSCHILD SAYS WEALTH IS WRONG

INHERITED TOO MUCH MONEY Baron Nathaniel Meyer Victor Roths child of the world's ric est families and, one of the latest re cruits to the British Labour Party, states the Sydney Sun corre p nd London, says nobody should be allowe to inherit as much money as he did Being the son of a rich man isn't good enough excuse for being wealthy, he declares. The third baron tried following the family tradition by serving two months in the banking business, found it dull, and returned as soon as possible to scientific research at Cambridge. He was told that many people were sur prised at a Rothschild being a Socialist "People have a somewhat Victorian idea of what a Rothschild is like, he said. "It envisages eating of gold plates and taps which produce one pound notes instead of water, but we have changed and some of us want to be scientists." Baron Rothschild 's politics have become so Socialistic that his great-great-grand-father, who settled in England in 1798 to lead one of the world 's greatest capitalistic ventures, must be having a bad time in his grave. The present RothschiId associates Conservative Go ernments with unemployment , under nourishment . unpreparedness, unpopa larity abroad, unequal pay, education and opportunities, undeveloped re sources and lack of opposition to Fas ism.

"The war showed up the stupidity of the old Tory idea that people w work for private gain, and for that rea son private enterprise is more efficient than State enterprise. "It would be an outrage if people were paid less now than during the Blitz because of irresponsible private enterprise, lack of interest on the part of the Government and a return to the bad distribution system which charac terised the pre-war Conservative era.' Baron Rothschild hopes the old days of unrestrained private enterprise for private profit are gone forever. He wants to see no more of few very rich men controlling such basic commodities as food, steel, coal, transport, communications and banks. Rothschild became a Socialist because he decided that any system which treated different classes of human beings in different ways, was wrong He earlier sounded John Strachey, author and prominent Labour man and Strachey said, "There are no class distinctions in the Labour Party and ch S applies just as much to you as anybody else.''
