THE GENERAL ELECTION tary, it was resolved to appoint an assistaht-secretary acceptable to him. A strong committee was elected. It is to consolidate the membership, and, by sub-commit-tees, to organise each section of activity bearing on the Parliamentary election. The executive consists of: Mr. F. H. Monk (chairman), Mr. J. D. Avery (secretary), Mr. H. Turner (assistant) , Mesdames S. A. Elliott, D. McBean, E. M. Southcombe, D. G. Sutherland, C. Stewart and H. F. Tews, Miss R. Mills and Messrs. A. W. Buxton, M. W. Coventry, A. W. Empson, H. R , Hickling, M. Holmes, D. McBean. E. M. Southcombe, C. Stewart and D. G. Sutherland, with power to add. Mr. P. J. Wall, chairman of the electorate, gave an interesting address on some aspects of the party's progress and policy. The gathering concluded with the dispensing of supper.
