Whitbread restarting
PA Auckland With the second half of the Whitbread about to begin this morning, skippers, crew and now trouble-free boats expect to face the most dangerous leg of the round-the-world race, taking them through the Southern Ocean and round Cape Hom. In preparation, and as a
form of recovery from the first half, crew and tradesmen have spent most of the Auckland stop-over maintaining yachts. The biggest task has been for the crews of the 24m (80ft) maxi yachts, the largest vessels, in the Whitbread fleet.
