‘Simple Simon’ caught
PA Wellington The Upper Hutt police stuck in their thumb and pulled out a plum ... Investigation. Senior-Sergeant Ted Jordan said a caller told the police early yesterday morning that “Simple Simon” was stealing from a dairy in Heretaunga. A half-eaten custard pie was found not far from the spot where the police nabbed “Simon.” He claimed he had
been framed, so “we have fingerprinted the custard pie and tooth-printed it,” said Senior-Sergeant Jordan.
A man, aged 21, will appear in the District Court at Upper Hutt on Monday.
