PA Wellington New Zealand cuisine including lamburgers and cordon bleu lamb dishes will be served to Japanese viewers on prime-time television this month. Several Japanese television celebrities and two film crews were in New Zealand last month filming for the programme, “Gourmet World,” which features national dishes and tourist attractions and screens nationwide in Japan. Sequences for the programme were filmed at the Bay of Islands, Auckland, Rotorua, Waitomo, Christchurch and Queenstown, and included restaurant scenes, a typical farm dinner, lakeside and beach barbecues, and a hangi, according to the Tourist and Publicity Department. An Auckland chef, Otto Groen, who appeared on the show, said the market potential for lamb in Japn was enormous.
