Judges keep titles
PA Wellington The Queen has approved the retention of the title “The Honourable” by two High Court judges after their retirement, the Governor-Gen-eral, Sir Paul Reeves said. Mr Justice Maxwell Vautier, who retired on December 8 last year, and Mr Justice Murray Prichard, who is due to retire on February 17 this year, could continue to use their titles, a statement from the office of the Prime Minister, Mr Lange, said. Judges of the High Court can be recommended by the Queen for retention of the title “The Honourable” for life on relinquishing office or retiring.
