Gliders fail to finish
PA Hamilton Half the field failed to finish and were forced to land out when long contests were again set at the national gliding championships at Waharoa. The pilots’ own assessment of what should have built up in the southern area of the courses set was spot on for some,
while others found it difficult, particularly round the Tokoroa district and further south. Most of the points leaders were amongst the top placings again, with the Christchurch pilots, Ray Lynskey and Teriy Delore, consolidating their leads in the open and racing classes respectively with wins.
