Billy T. hooked on marlin
PA Whangarei Billy T. James is hooked on big-game fishing - and so he should be.
About an hour after stepping on to a game fishing launch for the first time in his life, he had a striped marlin hooked, played and boated.
The entertainer was at Paihia for a one-night cabaret appearance and at 2am was convinced by local game fishing enthusiasts to have a go at the Bay of Islands’ favourite sport. A spur-of-the-moment charter was arranged with a charter skipper, Bob Douch, on the Bay’s gamefishing veteran, the Alma G. Mr James was taken to Cape Brett by water taxi to rendezvous with the launch.
