Inmate used syringe
PA Wellington A prison inmate used a syringe to inject himself with heroin while on a work party, the District Court at Wellington was told today. John Andrew Konnerth, aged 21, unemployed, of Wellington, pleaded guilty to three charges: possessing a needle and syringe, use of heroin, and a
breach of periodic detention. Sergeant Max Grey said that prison officers found Konnerth injecting himself on January 8. He would not tell prison officers the source of the heroin in the syringe. Judge Kerr convicted Konnerth on all charges and remanded him to February 18 for sentence.
