Christmas gifts
Sir,—l thank members of the public for their generous donations of toys, etc., which were given by members of the Lions Club of Waimairi as Christmas presents to children in foster homes and hospitals. I can assure them that these presents were very much appreciated. Children were impressed by the fact that they had received a present from someone unknown to them and, for some, it would be the only present that they would receive from the wider community. Such actions must surely help to give them faith in the community and stability in the future. — Yours, etc., G. W. LITTLE, Secretary. February 8, 1986.
