Proposed change to season

A change in the start of the breeding season from August 1 to September 1 is to be investigated by the Trotting Conference. A report on the subject will go before the next meeting of the executive to be held in Christchurch next month when a policy will probably be adopted.

The Australian breeding season for standardbred horses will change from August 1 to September 1 this season following a decision made at a meeting of the Australian Harness Racing Council in December.

The racing season in Australia will change from August to September in 1989. There will be further study of the change at a meeting of registrars in Melbourne next month and a final decision on the scheme will be reached at a meeting of the Inter-Dominion Council in Brisbane in April.
