Prices cut
Two New Zealand distributors of low price computers have formally announced price reductions for their products.
Atari’s local distributor has dropped the prices of the Atari 800 XL and Atari 130 XE home computers 30 per cent, and thrown in $lOO worth of free software for a limited period.
The 64K-byte 800 XL will now have a recommended retail price of $299 and the 128 K 130 XE will be priced at $439. Amstrad computers will also be cheaper, by up to $5OO. One of the most recently announced Amstrad computers, the CPC 6128, has dropped in price by $3OO to $1295. The price includes the computer with 128 K bytes of memory, a disc drive and a green screen.
