Ajax Aust.

PA Wellington Shares in the Lower Hutt manufacturer, Ajax McPherson’s, Ltd, came under strong buying pressure when it listed on Australian stock exchanges last week, the company said yesterday. The company’s shares and options were listed on the Melbourne Stock Exchange last Thursday. The stock exchanges of Perth, Hobart, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Sydney had also admitted the company’s stock to the

official list, Ajax McPherson’s directors said. Strong buying pressure was evident, particularly on the Sydney exchange with buy orders at 175 Australian cents for the ordinary shares and 170 c for the new ordinary shares with no sellers at these prices. Options traded at 70c. Ajax McPherson’s, which manufactures nuts and bolts, bought Ajax Fasteners and Ajax Pressings Australia at the end of last year.
