University Vacancies ■ UNIVERSITY OF WAIKATO Department of Psychology APPOINTMENT IN COMMUNITY PSYCHOLOGY Vacancy AB6/2 APPLICATIONS are Invited for a permanent position as Lecturer in Psychology. The appointee will be required to undertake teaching and supervision of trainee psychologists studying for the postgraduate Diploma in Community Psychology. The appointee would be expected to contribute to teaching commmunlty psychology at the undergraduate level. An interest in cross-cultural psychology and/or research methodology would also be an advantage. QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma or Doctorate in Community Psychology, or equivalent. The Department of Psychology has an establishment of 16 with a broad range of interests. It provides a threeyear undergraduate programme leading to the Bachelor of Social Sciences and a two-year post-graduate programme leading to the Masters degree. The research degrees of Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy are also offered. The Department has access to good computing facilities via a VAX network and micro computers are also available to staff. Close relationships with a wide range of community groups and facilities in and around the Waikato region have been established and the appointee will be expected to maintain and extend these. The Diploma in Community Psychology programme normally takes three years to complete, enrolment being concurrent with the Master of Social Science degree. The current salary range for Lecturers is SNZ2B,OOO- - p.a. Study leave on full pay is available after a qualifying period.
