Clypex in TV

PA Wellington Clypex Resources, Ltd, had taken an interest in Energy Source Television NZ, Ltd, ah applicant for the proposed third television channel warrant, Clypex directors said yesterday.

They said in a statement that Energy Source Television had developed rapidly as a producer of high profile television programmes. It had particularly good success with its series, “This is New Zealand,” screened weekly in the United States in 180 cities and on •450 cable systems. The Clypex directors believed this new investment would enjoy strong,

growth and make a positive contribution to Clypex’s performance. The directors also announced that the company had withdrawn from further participation in the Southgas Resources joint venture project in Southland. The joint venture was formed to investigate the prospects of extracting methane from Southland’s coal deposits for commercial application. “Protracted exploration requirements have persuaded Clypex directors to decide against further investment in the venture and to write off costs to date in the current financial year,” the statement says.
