Test car on fire
NZPA-Reuter Nairobi The Kenyan motor rally ace, Shekhar Mehta, escaped unhurt when a new car he was testing caught fire and burnt to ashes in central Kenya. Mehta, a five-times winner of the Kenyan Safari rally, said he was testing a new Peugeot 205 when the engine suddenly stalled and the car burst into flames only seconds after he and his French assistant had scrambled out.
It was not immediately clear if the accident would affect Peugeot’s plans to enter the Kenyan rally this year at Easter.
